Buildings in Guatemala – Introduction
Our Guatemala Architectural tours operate in the capital.
Guatemala Architectural Tours
The capital, Guatemala City, also known as Guate, is the largest city of the Republic of Guatemala, and the most populous in Central America.
It is located in the south-central part of the country, in a mountain valley called Valle de la Ermita.
Antigua Guatemala is located in the south of this Central American country. Antigua Guatemala is a city in the central highlands of Guatemala famous for its Colonial Architecture (well-preserved Spanish Baroque influenced architecture) as well as a number of spectacular ruins of colonial churches. There are 3 World Heritage sites declared by UNESCO in Guatemala.
Key contemporary buildings in the city can be visited externally on our Guatemala Architecture Tours.
Guatemala Walking Tours
Guatemala Architecture Tours tend to focus on the major new buildings in the city but some groups prefer a mix of old and new. We can also accommodate requests on our Guatemala walking tours, such as visits to specific buildings types eg interiors or housing, and trips to certain parts of the city rather than an overall visit.
